Inspired by a black-sand beach in Maui, "Beyond the Treeline" captures the moment a hidden coastline appears through the surrounding vegetation. The contrast between tropical colour, dark volcanic sand and open water is distilled into bold shapes, holding the sense of discovery found just beyond the trees.
