"Heatwave" is inspired by those long, hot summer days when the beach becomes the only place to be. The warmth of the sand, the cool relief of the water and the relaxed figures stretched out beneath an intense Australian sun are reduced to bold shapes and saturated colour. The painting captures that unmistakable feeling of summer, slightly languid, brilliantly bright and completely unhurried.
