COMMISSIONS
I have worked on artwork commissions for clients and friends for over 30 years. Each painting has been specifically commissioned from a photograph of a certain place and time which is usually supplied by the client. I then do my magic and create a one of a kind piece.
My work is sought after by investors and collectors looking for long term investment or a legacy to pass on to their children. No matter the size, it can be painted!
Keep in mind, I only paint 6 commissions per year and is usually booked up way in advance. Don't wait to book in a commission, the earlier the better.
How to commission an artwork...
The process to commission a painting starts with an initial contact. Reach out via email or a phone call and discuss the particular subject you have in mind for an original and unique painting for your home or as a gift. Each painting is unique, so sizing, colours and subject matter, as well as the clients budget can all be discussed. If you would like to email a commission enquiry, click below.
The commission process...
Firstly, the client will brief me on general requirements such as subject matter, size, price range, framing and completion date.
Then I gather the necessary reference material, ie. photographs, sketches, background history (where applicable), and produce a digital sketch of the proposed artwork.
Usually an email is sent to the client with the digital image. Any changes that the client wants to make would happen at this stage ie. colours, sizes etc.
Painting onto the canvas can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks depending on the size of the canvas. Once the painting has been completed, the final work will be inspected and approved by the client before framing and shipping. Framing usually adds 2 weeks onto the final completion date.
Final payment is normally made at this point. The entire process is one of creative collaboration between myself and the client. Often times, clients will return for an additional commission.
